Are these eyeshadow colors too light for me?
Usually, i wear darker eyeshadows, but my friend bought me some light ones because apparently she's sick of me being so... dark.
It's an eyeshadow quad by avon. It's called ';sun bronzed quad';; it has the colors 'white chocolate', 'sunshine', 'golden', and 'bronze'. i put them on and it makes me look sick. are they look light for me? or am i not doing it right? thanks?Are these eyeshadow colors too light for me?
If you don't like it, don't wear it. Maybe you should try using some inbetween colors? Not too light or dark? And try brown, because she obviously seems to think you could use some neutral tones. Maybe she thinks your makeup is too obvious? Makeup is meant to make you look better, not to make you stick out. Try making it look more natural. :3Are these eyeshadow colors too light for me?
i think that you should have medium colors because too light makes ppl look pale and make there eyes small... and too dark kinda looks bad... so do a medium brown and a glittery tan color... mostly medium colors...

Since dark colours can be too harsh and can overpower the lovely tone of your eyes, I'd recommend nude/pastel colours.

To make your eyes look bright, dap white or pale yellow eyeshadow on the inner corners.

If however, you were to apply blue eyeshadow instead, your blue eyes would end up competing for attention with the blue shadow and end up getting lost in the makeup - your blue eyes would simply ';blend in'; with the blue makeup and therefore, would not be enhanced. light brown or blue. If you go to the grocery store or walmart or something there is eyeshadow by almay that has palettes for different color eyes. They have bring out the blues, bring out the greens, etc.

gold and green really make your eye color pop, estee lauder has a gold eye shadow duo that looks great, and i like lancome's greens, use brown eyeliner and mascara, not black, clinique makes a really pretty brown shadow that looks good on my eyes, i'm pretty sure its called copper penny, lilac is pretty too, i know how hard it is to want to wear pretty colorful make up and not want to come out looking like a clown because your so pale!

You didn't mention your complexion, which I feel is more important. You need to find out if you suit warmer colours or cooler colours.

it depends on your skin colour if u r light coloured skin the best colours are bright and colours like pink,sky blue. if u r asian skined it is best if u use colurs like light brown or light military green and light dark colours and if u r dark sined the best colours are purple,red , orange, yellow and etc hope it helped u

The one's that come along with they eyeshadow sometimes apply the shadow to harshly, making it look less natural.

I use CoverGirl Tapestry Taupe. It's a nice shimmery color.

A warm honey shimmer around the ball of the eye . Blend up , but not to the eyebrow. Then a soft white along the bottom of the brow, blend down so the two colors work off of each other.

Well since the slightest variance in colour can affect how makeup will look I can only make a suggestion in the hopes that it will come out ok. Try a dark shade of purple, but don't put it on too heavy instead of using the applicators that come with it use a eyeshadow brush. Then use black eyeliner but don't make the line too think.
You may want to consider going to a makeup counter at a department store and asking for them to do your makeup for you or to just help you pick out a colour. They would have a much easier time since they can actually see you and have experience with choosing makeup for people.
I would try green or gold, two hot colors right now that will add some brightness to your eye area without being too dark for casual wear.
Black eyeliner is always a good choice, but you might want to experiment with other shades as well. Prestige cosmetics (at your drustore) makes an excellent green automatic liner, and that would be an inexpensive way to try out some brighter shades.

I have the same thing as you; I think my best are white and light pink. I don't use a brush or applicator, however; I use my fingertip to apply the shadow. (even the powder version, which I only been using that lately).

Well since the slightest variance in colour can affect how makeup will look I can only make a suggestion in the hopes that it will come out ok. Try a dark shade of purple, but don't put it on too heavy instead of using the applicators that come with it use a eyeshadow brush. Then use black eyeliner but don't make the line too think.
You may want to consider going to a makeup counter at a department store and asking for them to do your makeup for you or to just help you pick out a colour. They would have a much easier time since they can actually see you and have experience with choosing makeup for people.
I would try green or gold, two hot colors right now that will add some brightness to your eye area without being too dark for casual wear.
Black eyeliner is always a good choice, but you might want to experiment with other shades as well. Prestige cosmetics (at your drustore) makes an excellent green automatic liner, and that would be an inexpensive way to try out some brighter shades.

So many now make pallets for a specific eye color..one for the lid..the crease and below the eyebrow.. I also suggest you go to a department store and get a free makeup lesson with no obligation to buy. Estee Lauder, Clinique and so many others offer this. Remember to use mascara and your eyes will ';pop'; good luck and have fun..Oh and most of these makeup lessons are conducted by makeup artists!
Well what i wear and it might sound crazybut if you blend it well enough it looks nice first on the lid put purple but not like cheap purple make it look nice then in the crease put brown to make the purple pop and top it off with a light light shimmery tan on the bone.
Also trios of greens give the earthy look which compliments your skin tone and hair and eye colors:)

If you really want to make your blue eyes pop, I'd go for a warm copper, burnished gold, or rich brown eye shadow. Chocolate is an excellent shade choice for eyeliner. If you go for the eyeliner, making this eye look a little more intense, you might want to wear more of a natural toned lipgloss.
For a great daytime look, I'd suggest using one of these rich colors and brushing on just a sheer hint of it, with a little liner smudged along top lash line. That would probably work well with your pink lipgloss.

I have blue eyes also, i just use a light light brown or a white for my brow bone (if you use white do it very lightly) then i use brown and i start it in the crease of my eye and i put it on my lid, but the farther i go away from my crease i make it lighter. Then i put eyeliner on the top eyelash line, then i put it on the lower lash line (i have big eyes so i put it like on the lash line in my eye) if you have smaller eyes put it on the outer side of your lower lash line.

I have blue eyes also, i just use a light light brown or a white for my brow bone (if you use white do it very lightly) then i use brown and i start it in the crease of my eye and i put it on my lid, but the farther i go away from my crease i make it lighter. Then i put eyeliner on the top eyelash line, then i put it on the lower lash line (i have big eyes so i put it like on the lash line in my eye) if you have smaller eyes put it on the outer side of your lower lash line.

Stay with the earth tones. You'll look more natural in your beauty. The whites, blues, greens, and purples make you look cheap.

I dont see a problem with it as long as its not to heavy and she isnt wearing to much of it and its applied properly then I dont see a problem with it. Just make sure she washes it off every night and everything.

I'd suggest thin blue liner smudged and mascara...
but it depends on the maturity of the 12 year old.

It is ok, as long as you done put too much on. i would avoid the dark colors, and blue. i would reccomend a light tan/goldish color. that would look naturall yet still pretty.
and for mascara you should use dark brown. get make up tips from your mom. they always help:)

I personally think that 12 is way too young to wear make-up. MAYBE a lip gloss would be ok, but I think that's what is wrong with our society now. I'm not attacking you personally, but we have to wonder what makes the young girls want to grow up so fast. I remember when I was in high school. I could not wear makeup until I was 16, and my skin was much prettier then. Also, there were lots of girls in the bathroom scrubbing their faces at 3:30 before they went home.
At the time I thought it was unfair, but then I noticed that I wasn't the only one; years later, I also noticed that 16 is about right on time.

I would say a little to young, but then again some need it.... I would say don't go for eyehadow... use an eyelash curler and curl you eyelashes and then put show mascara on.. always look better than eyeshadow

That is a little young, I agree with the other answers, wait until it's time to start attracting the boys. You don't need that attention at 12, be a kid now, that can come in a few years. Adulthood comes early enough, it doesn't need to be rushed into. Enjoy your youth while you can!!

Dont be silly it is not good for yous skin at your age which is still developing and maturing, it needs time before you can start putting those chemicals all over it. I would say lipgloss and wouldnt hurt but not make up unless it is a special occasion i.e. wedding but dont do it everyday! Dont start now - your skin will be wrinkly and bad when you get to an older age - it will dried out by the time your 20.
Hmmm... not really. Maybe wait til you're about 15. You can buy clear mascara that will comb and curl your lashes and darken them naturally. try putting a little blush on your brow bone and a little on your cheeks...that should be good enough for now.

It's her choice but I wouldn't worry about makeup at that age. I don't think it's a crime but it's not needed. I hope the 12 year old enjoys her youth now because she shouldn't spend it worrying about makeup.
